Foot Deodorants and Foot Powders

Definition: Feet perspire about ½ pint each a day.  It is much more for those who work on their feet and/or athletically active.  One way to control the odor is to use foot deodorant or powders.  Interestingly, the only part of the foot that needs to have the deodorant applied is the ball of the foot as that is where the moisture exits and collects in the shoe.

For powders, the powder needs to have zinc oxide nanotechnology  – nano zinc oxide and aluminum chloride hexahydrate.  Otherwise, powder may help keep the foot drier, but it won’t eliminate odor.   There are foot deodorants on the market, some with scents and others without.   Regular deodorant and anti-perspirant can also be used.

Benefits: Foot odor is more a problem with some people than with others.  Along with other techniques, such as using cedar shoetrees and moisture wicking socks, foot deodorant is an effective way to keep the feet dry and odor free.
