Definition: Lyncos are a brand name for arch supports made by Aetrex Worldwide. They are a soft, yet solid, support that come in a variety of styles. They are made with and without metatarsal lifts, and in several thicknesses. Some are posted and others are not.
Since these supports are softer than supports made from various densities of plastic, those who either cannot, or believe they cannot, tolerate firmer supports can get good arch support. Unlike the BioOrthotic supports, they do not increase blood flow, flexibility or create ideal foot motion. Lyncos with metatarsal lifts will promote better balance than those without.
These supports are priced well but they do need to be replaced, wearable on a regular basis for 1 year maximum.
Benefits: Lyncos are good for those who cannot tolerate the more firm supports at a price that is good and come in a variety of styles. They do wear down so they must be purchased yearly; more often in cases where one wears them regularly in sports activities.
