Lower and Thinner Arch Support with Longitudinal and Metatarsal Support

Definition: A lower and thinner arch support than the BioOrthotics exercising supports is recommended for shoes that will not accommodate the height of the BioOrthotic support. These kind of supports do not perform all the functions of the BioOrthotic exercising supports, but they are identical in these aspects:  1) the body is balanced before taking a step, 2) once the step begins, the arch is maintained, and 3) the foot structure does not collapse, allowing the foot to move as a unit.

These supports are semi-rigid, pre-fabricated and come in 7-15 sizes, depending upon the brand.  They are sized by a heel-to-1st-metatarsal measurement (not shoe size) combined with kinesthetic balancing.

Benefits: It is recommended that everyone have some kind of longitudinal and metatarsal support in every shoe.  Although it does not perform as many functions as the BioOrthotic exercising support, it is an excellent second best option.  These thin supports go in all except the shallowest shoes and with if put in with velcro fastening at the heels, fit very well in sandals.
