Studies confirm a strong link between depression and diabetes and the link appears to go both ways: Depression is involved in the combination of conditions causing diabetes and diabetics have a high incidence of depression.
Since we work with a lot of diabetic feet (and the people connected to those feet!), we observe a fair amount of up-and-down among them. One’s mood may seem agreeable but they don’t look as good as even a few weeks ago; or the mood is good, only to find a very different person on the phone or in person within a few days.
